    Earring swap feedback

    Hello!

First, let me say I really enjoyed participating in the first earring swap, sending in two separate packages with a pair each, and would gladly do so again if another is planned.

Here's the feedback: I received back one pair I had sent in. I'm not sure how this happened, but it's sort of funny. One suggestion for avoiding this in the future: separate the SASEs from the incoming earrings before making another determination.

    Thanks!

    Ruth in Arizona :)

    Earring Feedback Part II

Well, the second package arrived today and so far, I've received back everything I sent out to swap.

    WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?

     Hello Beading Daily Beaders,

I just recieved my earrings in the mail from www.electricrainbow1.etsy.com  I loved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! them. The beads look like Kazuri beads from Kenya with some of the coolest bead caps I've ever seen. By the way the turquoise earthy beads you used were beautiful. I can't wait to join the next swap. I saw something on the site that showed a bracelet swap, when was this? Did I miss this one? If so I guess summer went faster than I thought. Beautiful work Electric Rainbow, I don't know your real name but my name is Hannah, www.beadtradebyhannahllc.com . Thank you beading daily it was a real pleasure to be a part of your first swap, if I did miss the 2nd bracelet swap, when and what will be the 3rd swap?

    Sincerely,

    Hannah

HANNAH!!!  It's Cori - www.electricrainbow1.etsy.com .  I'm so glad you loved your earrings!  It always makes me feel good to know that someone loves my work -  ESPECIALLY when it's a fellow beader!  I just got mine today and TOOOOOO KEWL!  They're made from this copper twisted wire, with these cute little green beads @ the bottom of each one... sound familiar?? They should!  They're YOURS!  I've got to be honest, I've never done anything with copper and don't even wear it.  Tomorrow they're going on, though!  They match my HAIR!! LOL!!!  Now I need to go buy some copper!!!

I think you were only allowed to swap one pair.  Perhaps that is why they sent them back?

Hannah the bracelet swap is ran by Beading Daily forum member Lois- this is not hosted by the site just one member and then participants on the forums. Bracelet swap #2 is now on it's way to completion with members sending the bracelets to their respective "marks".

Sign ups for Round 3 will probably be under way soon and I believe that has a send off date in January. If you would like to sign up for that, stay tuned to the forums specifically the "bead chat" section for information to come.

    Hope this helps!

I feel bad because I completely forgot to send a pair of earrings for this!  I found my note the other day and the deadline had already passed.  Oh well, maybe next time.  Not like we don't have 5 or 6 other swaps going at any given time.

    Hello Cat,

Thanks for the update, I'm new at this swap thing, I had fun with the earring swap so I will watch the forums to see when there's another swap. I did join a Bead swap with Bead Unique magazine last year and my piece I submitted got chosen to be photoed in the magazine in the Jan issue 2009. This too was really cool but totally different rules. I'm so thrilled this was such a cool experience, have a great weekend bead girls!!!!!!

Ruth, so sorry that you received back both pairs you sent in!  I wonder what happened??

I received my little SASE yesterday with a pair of absolutely gorgeous metal and glass earrings!  My only problem was that there was no identification with them - I have no idea who made them or where they came from!  I'm going to put a picture of them and a little article about them on my About.com blog later today, and maybe someone will recognize the earrings as the ones that they made.  But I'm wearing them today, because I am totally in love with them.  They are brass squares with textured silver circles, tiny lampwork disks, and hung from brass earwires by twisted brass jumprings.  I totally love them - they are EXACTLY what I would have picked out for myself!  They will go with just about everything in my closet.

Anyone else going to post pics of their earrings?  I'm dying to know where the pair I sent in ended up!

    Re: Earring swap feedback

Since it seems to have been a true one-to-one trade, maybe that's why yours came back to you - your trade partner only submitted one pair.  I had no idea that it was truly a trade until Lee Anne said she received my pair after I had contacted her to let her know I had hers.

This was my first time getting involved in a swap - I'm psyched and ready for the next.  Thank you Lee Anne!  Thank you BD for offering this fun - and somewhat mysterious - opportunity!

    Re: Earring swap feedback

A one-to-one swap...? Hrmm... I was thinking that if I sent in two, I could share with two people, and get two (hopefully VERY different) pairs back.

I'm willing to go again, but I'd like to have some explanation of the mechanics of the swap process. I don't think BD intended for people to get their own work back! :)

Okay, here is the pair of earrings I received in the Earring Swap:

Do they look familiar to anyone?  I have a sneaking suspicion I know who made them, but I'm not 100% sure.  Whoever did make them, though, did a fabulous job and I LOVE them!  (Wearing them right now, as a matter of fact!)

Those are pretty Jen!  Very nice.

Don't forget everyone, that the BD forum members do a monthly earring swap.  You still have another day or two to email Inca (our coordinator) and get your name in for round 7.  The post is in the Bead Chat section titled SSE7 signups (Secret Santa's Ear).

You just have to email her your name & address plus your likes/dislikes for earrings.  Alternately you can put your preference info on your bio page.
