    Metal beads we love

I already showed you mine, show me yours! I'm a  copper saucer because its aesthetics are both of this earth and from another planet at the same time, past and future. How about you?

    Re: Metal beads we love

The bead I would say I am was not on here.  I love the bright metallic sparkly beads (any color or metal).  Blue Moon has them out at Joann's (a new oval shape too besides the round bead) and at WalMart.  I buy a cluster every time I am there of every color I can find ($1.97/strand).  I have every color out there (white, cream, pink, purple, lavendar, copper, brown, green light & olive & darker, aqua, turquoise, red, etc.) but love the turquoise and brass colored ones that go with the other beads I love to work up.

Why am I a bright metallic sparkly bead?  Cuz I love to be the center of attention (sanguine personality) and shine and show off and entertain.  I add metallic touches to all my art work so it shines rather than just sit there. I add metallic paint to acrylic and watercolor on paper and to my fabric artwork (aprons, eyeglass bags, etc.).  Everything I paint has metallic paint on top for accents.  It says, look at me.

If I were growing up in today's world I would be wearing lots of bright colors (which I do wear) rather than the basics I wore while growing up cuz there wasn't much out there, especially on our budget.  I loved the Cinderella stories of the girl getting to wear the special dress and jewelry and sparkly shoes.

You are so right--I did not have any of the colorful metals in this post, the niobium, aluminum, etc. My bad. And I love them, too! But it just goes to show how many metal bead there are! Can't get nearly enough in one l'il old blog!

Did you see the post on colored jump rings a couple weeks ago?

Leslie S. welcome to BD forum. I think, my first love in beads is the Swaroski AB Crystals in any shape or form.    Compare that to me, "looks brilliant on the outside".  Idea :) ( I love all AB beads actually:)

I loved the colored jump rings.

I'm torn between the copper saucer, the rosebud and the old metal parts (although I never had to switch the train and the Barbie, cause I got my own train Wink). I love metal beads, because they can add shimmer and shine to a piece or can produce a rustic look, depending on what metal and finish you use. My fav necklace atm features round brass beads with big holes like they are used in Native American hair pipe breast plates and chokers.

I never really thought about it!  I honestly could say that I feel like I could relate myself to beads in general but what kind?  Thats a hard question.  I guess I would say seed or delica beads.  There are so many differnet colors to them - like aspects to personality.  They are versitile - you could have a color for every mood, feeling and meaning.  I dunno...I just love my seeds!

I'm a seed bead fan in a big way, too, but have been using metal components (especially steampunkythings) in with my weaving. Fr'instance, I bead around metal rings and stuff like that. The best of both worlds!

I'm the old worn out metal parts and pieces. Possibly not even beads at all, just rusted up components. *laughz* Yep, that sounds about right.
