I'd love to know what Michelle will be doing with herself now that she has "left the building," so to speak.

Hopefully some fabulous opportunity has befallen her. Do tell, Michelle!

And a big welcome to Leslie. I know we're in good hands with you taking over the helm.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the good wishes!  I'm going to miss hanging out with you every day, but Beading Daily is in good hands with Leslie. I've decided to take the leap and become my own boss.  At the moment, I'm working on some writing/editing/designing projects and in the planning stages of some larger projects.  As much as I'll miss Beading Daily, I'm excited to finally have the time to see some of my longtime dreams become a reality.

The best part of my new flexible, work-at-home schedule is I actually have more time to bead! Yesterday, the day of the announcement, I took a friend to her very first bead show.  That was fun!  I thought she was going to pass out when she saw all the beads . . . and we were at a small show!

Michelle

P.S. Here's a simple necklace that I created for myself last night. Happy beading, everyone!

I'll be sorry to see you go Michelle, but best of luck with your new ventures.  Be sure to stop by and keep us posted on what you're up to!

I can just imagine what your friend was feeling-I remember how overwhelmed I was at my first show (not to mention every one since then).

Leslie:  welcome!  Not like you haven't been around up till now, but we'll look forward to getting to know you better. :)

I agree with everyone else in that you will surely be missed around here. And I hope you stop in often. How about everyday as a fellow beader. However as myself and others have mentioned before this site is very addicting and it is sometimes hard to put the computer away and tackle the beading that awaits us. Stick out tongue

I also wish you the very best in your new ventures. I am sure you will have all the success in whatever your do.

Have a very beady dayBig Smile

Michelle M.:
I've decided to take the leap and become my own boss.

Hey Michelle,

good for you! As someone who's been self employed and working out of my house for the last 15 years, I can tell you there is nothing better. The first month is very weird, though, if you're used to a 9 to 5 gig. You feel like you don't have a job, and panic occasionally sets in. Also, you won't be getting a regular paycheck every 2 weeks, so keep close watch on the finances. My best advice--set regular work hours and stick to them. No cheating and taking an hour off in the middle of the day to watch Oprah!

For some strange reason, everyone always asks me the same question--"do you find yourself tempted to go do the laundry in the middle of the day rather than working?" (Answer: "Who in their right mind is ever tempted to do the laundry, EVER?")

good luck!

Erin

Michelle, I hope you have fun with your beads.  I know I like to be at home and do my designs and get ready to have my shows.   I will be sad you are not going to be at Beadingdaily anymore but you will be happy doing what you love the best.  I know I do.  Now don't be a stranger come back and say HI sometimes.  Good luck with the future and keep on beading.  Tammy Dufek

Michelle-- I'll add my sentiments of well wishes to you in your new endeavors, pursuits, and dreams. Also my thanks for giving us so much of your time and knowledge to help us all become better beaders and designers. I also want to say thank you for letting us, the BD members, make this place truly ours, and in fact encouraging us to do so. BD is a rather unique forum, and we LOVE it. Don't forget to stop in now and then! Also, LOVE the aqua and black/brown necklace, isn't it nice to have the TIME to just put something together when the mood strikes?

Leslie-- welcome to your new position as Editor!  We're glad to have you, and I know I will be looking forward to seeing what new ideas you can share with us!

Lois
