    Old Egyptian paste articles

Good morning! I'm looking for old articles by Nancy Wright published in the lapidary journal in 1994. The articles are about Egyptian Paste beads and here they are:

    Wright, Nancy
    Bead-Drying Screen, 83, 9-94
    Creating a Necklace, 108, 7-94
Egyptian Paste Beads, Part II, 143, 10-94
Finishing the Paste Beads, Part III, 110, 11-94

If anyone has the articles pls write to me and we can arrange a selling agreement. I actually contacted the publisher and they suggested that I look for the old articles in this forum bec. they don't have a copy. I would appreciate any help.

Maybe you can try to find a library that can get the back issues and copy the articles for a fee. Or maybe David would log on and can tell if he has the back issues of lapidary journal. Or contact him directly via BD or his blog. Links see below:

    Maggie:

Lapidary Journal is now called Jewelry Artist, which is an Interweave publication.  Back in 1992-1993, LJ began an article reprint service and published a digest of all of the articles from all of the back issues.  It seems that when Interweave took the magazine over, it continued this service in some format - according to this page, http://www.jewelryartistmagazine.com/archive/authorindex.cfm, the articles you are looking for are available through their reprint service.

It seems odd that you were told that the articles weren't available because they didn't have a copy, when they explicitely state that the articles are available for reprint.

I would also check your local library - even if they don't have those magazines, they should be able to get them via interlibrary loan.  Also, if you know anyone who has a child or sibling or are themselves in college, the school library can obtain the volumes on request, if they aren't in the library's catalog.

Maggie-- since you said in your introduction post that you are in Cairo, Egypt, the library isn't an option. Let me know if you can't get the re-print service, and I'll go to University library when I'm down there next week and copy them for you. I'll be going down Thurdsay, so let me know by Wedensday, k? I can then just mail them to you.
