Hello everyone, I hope to learn alot from here.

   My name is Beth, I am 40 yrs old and I live in GA.  I just started beading about two months ago and sold alot of items during my 3rd week of designing earrings, but now I'm in a lull and I still have ALOT to learn!  The library near me doesn't even carry books on beading!!!  How bizzarre.  I never had any selfconfidience and I guess I still don't, but I find that beading makes me feel good about myself!  I also quilt and make candles, but making jewelry is my passion!  I have so much jewelry from over the years that I purchased and I was always on the lookout for something new.  Well, I told my husband that I should just start making my own jewelry, and he bought me a kit from Hobby Lobby and now I have a small business!

Hi Beth, welcome to the forums!   That's great you're selling earrings so soon and so fast.  This is a really fun place with lots of great people, I'm sure you'll learn a lot here.  If you can't find books in the library check out the free projects here, there are some good ones!

Glad you found us and decided to join. I come from a large family and I believe that you can have more fun with more people, so join in and have fun.

I often get books from the library. When they don't have a book that I want, I just request it and they do a search of other libraries in the state. If they find it they just borrow it from them. So see if your library offers that service.

Beth, around here, you never know who is going to learn from whom.  We have members here3 who were beading [or other needlecrafts] swince they were single-digit kidss, other who started just this year, maybe even last month, but they all can, and do, share from their experiences and thus we learn.
