    Jumpring Tools

    I've seen jumpring tools in jewelry catalogues. They slide onto your finger and you use them to open and close jumprings. Does anyone here use this tool or do you just use your pliers to open and close jumprings? Do these jumpring tools work well?

    If you are opening and closing lots of jump rings, as in making chain maille or mass production, I've heard that they are a good tool to have. I can't speak from experience on this. I don't do a lot of jump ring, so the pliers work fine for me.

     Yes they do work well and I love mine! Some of the heavier gauges don't fit in the opening very well but overall most sizes fit.

    Mine has been such a great purchase, well worth the few dollars it cost.

     Ok, thanks for the replies! I do have trouble using the pliers on jumprings, so I think that I'll order one of the tools.

     I have this tool and love it. Great for beaders who want to save their nails (which is why i purchased them in the first place) - I tend to want to use my nails for everything rather than tools

    Then I suggest getting two of the tools, one for each hand; else you will still need a pair of pliers for the other hand [or a vise].
