    Pam:
NH makes some good maple syrup too.

Pam I would love some! Real maple syrup is just the best! Tell me how much and I'll send the money to ya!

Nicole, if you want maple syrup I can get you some.

Thank you Pam, but I think you mean Sherri! ^-~

I used to love going to our 'Pioneer Village' in the winter.  They would pour fresh maple syrup on a slab of clean ice, and once it was frozen you could eat it.  Tasty, tasty stuff!  It was almost like taffy, that way.  My MIL knows some people who make maple syrup here, so we get some from them.  It's so much better than "Mrs. Butterworth" or "Aunt Jemima" stuff.. :p

    o.O!

That's because they are "maple"  "flavored".  Angry  It's NOT 'the real thing'.

Pam if you would get prices on both that would be great. I would like to get one for myself but also for my sister who absolutely will not eat anything else on her pancakes. She's actually the one that got me into REAL maple syrup. Such a huge difference I tell ya!

I know it can be bought in the store but it's just not the same as getting it directly from up there.

My uncle used to own a place in vermont.  A maple "farmer" (what would you call them?) gave my uncle maple syrup in exchange for letting him tap his trees.  Everyone in the family (we're a big one) got maple syrup one year.  Sadly, he no longer owns the place [:'(]

    Re: Vacation

I'm back!  Vacation was needed, I am finally healthy after a 4 week bout with bronchitis...ugh.  Vermont is indeed beautiful - I do have to say that I am not enamored with the rain. It rained buckets and buckets. We did get 4 days of sun, thank goodness.  Parents left after two days -please don't get me started there. I was ready to pack up and leave......we had a few days just the 4 of us and then my sister in law and her husband arrived and that was great. Got my son shipped off to NH for 2 weeks, his first time away. I do have to say that I am used to not having my daughter around as she is the older of the two and 15, not having my boy around is a bit empty.  I'm trying not to say "miss you" on the phone.

For me, the most wonderful thing of all is that I GOT BEADING TIME!  I will take pictures and post (now that I can.... Smile) It was blissful, wonderful and peaceful.  Oh, wonderful *contented sigh*. I did start my Muse project, very exciting - I just now have to finish it.  Finished my flower challenge just before I left, will post pictures.Ok, enough rambling.....

I have tried to catch up on things here (2 hours going through posts) and think that I am caught up. If there is something that I should know, would someone mind giving a holler?

Back to the real world, re-entry is rough......

    Re: Vacation

Nice to have you back Courtney! Yeah, cooped up in the rain with family can be.... trying? But at least you got some good beading time! As for what did you miss... well,  the 2 boxes for bead swap #2 are moving.... Jeni's bead challange is still waiting on all the beads to arrive to jeni.... earring swap #3 is just about to be mailed, bracelet swap is going.... Inca has invited us all to participate in her wedding by sending her white and clear beads for her wedding jewelry (I LOVED that idea!) Cat is sending a charm bracelet around for us to add charms to that represent us.... hmmm.... Pam's daughter and boyfriend are still in our prayers.... and that's about all I can think of for the moment!

Wow Courtney, it's nice to have you back!  I missed you!!!  I'm glad you had a mostly good time, that it didn't rain for four days and that you got in some good beading time.

Lois has given a good summary of what's up lately so I won't try to improve on it!
