 Hello all,

Just a quick note - I am headed off on vacation to Vermont, no or very limited access to the internet (not all bad). I hope to have some down time to be able to bead! Big Smile doing the happy dance.  I'll be back around July 9 or so.  I'll be sending you all postcards! (close your eyes and imagine peace, quiet, lots of green and me! :))

Miss you all!

Have a great time Courtney, enjoy those beautiful rolling green hills.  I hope you have lots of sunny days!

I hope you have a wonderful time, Courtney!  I've only been to Vermont once (on the way to Quebec), but it was lovely while I was there. :D

Enjoy the green, the peace and quiet, and the beading! hehe.

Courtney,

Have a great time!  I have a request.  Instead of a post card, will you please send me a gallon of maple syrup?  Thanks in advance!  *grinz*  Wink

You mean you haven't gotten used to spreading preserves/jam on your pancakes yet? ;P [[Edit: ... I have no idea why, but I thought Jeni said this, not Sherri. ... Wow, I fail. This whole post is a bit silly now... XD;  Sorry!]]

I remember when my uncle would come to visit us when we lived in Switzerland.  He would bring cheddar cheese (not sure how he got away with that, but that was over 15 years ago now, I guess), Smartfood popcorn, After Eight mints, and maple syrup. :D  Now, I spread jam on my pancakes occasionally. My husband thinks I'm an oddball for it. XD  It's interesting how we crave things we're used to having but can't find, eh? Like Coffee Crisp and Mint Aero chocolate bars, here... :(

My older brother lives in Switzerland now, and he always asks us to send Jelly Beans and Eat More candy bars.  And my aunt asks for Smartfood, After Eight mints, Hickory Sticks, and then other random things. heheh.

I know what you mean! My sister lives in England, and I'm always sending her things like Jiffy cornbread mix, cheddar sunchips, york pepermint paddies.... yep. And she sends me chocolate ripples and chocolate hobnobs!

Mmmm, Hobnobs...we actually miss the grocery store at the int'l base in Belgium.  Since there were several nationalities there, they brought in a few items that were popular from each country, so it was a really unique store.  It was nice to find some of the things we liked that you couldn't get just anywhere.  At least we can get real maple syrup at the commissary here.

Have a great vacation Courtney-hope it's relaxing for you!

My family from MA brings us Ah-So sauce (Chinese) with them when they visit- we can't find it anywhere down here! My grandmother almost missed her plane the last time she came down because she had put the 12 bottles of Ah-So sauce in her carry-on! The airline people where nice enough to run around and find her checked in luggage so she could put it in that instead. Oh and they also bring us maple syrup :D

Also, when I went on a trip to France, I got hooked on these Prince cookies (Prince was the brand) and a soda called Gini. I wish I knew someone in France that could send me some! They are sooo good.

Nicole, if you want maple syrup I can get you some.  NH makes some good maple syrup too.  Or, I'm right on the NH/VT border, I could go 15 miles into Vermont and get it there.  It still isn't cheap, unless you want me to wait until next year and tap the trees in my yard (I'm not kidding)....actually, I think the organic farm down the road from me might still have some from this past spring.  I can walk over there.
