    Avatar Pics

Is there a reason my Avatar pic is so blurry?  Is there something I can do to correct that?

    Hi Lyilha/Kelly ~

It may just be me but your avatar doesn't look blurry at all just small. Its a picture of you looking at up... right?  I have a 20" Wide screen set to 1680 x 1050 pixels if that helps at allTongue Tied

I'm sure someone will be along shortly with very sound advice on how to fix it.

    Kelly,

I see your avatar the same way you do.  Here's how to fix it:

    1. Upload your avatar image to someplace online.  One of the image hosts will work (I use PhotoBucket, which is free, but dreadfully slow).
    2. Click on your name anywhere on the forum, which will take you to your profile page.
    3. On the lower right side, under Options, click Edit my profile.
    4. In the Avatar section, make sure the Enable Avatar radio button is clicked.
    5. In the Avatar URL: box, paste in the URL of your image.  (The URL starts with http:// and then something after that.  You don't want the stuff that starts with left-bracket, IMG, right-bracket or that starts with left-arrow,a href. or that starts with left-bracket, URL=...  What you want is the "direct link" in PhotoBucket terms.)
    6. While you're there, tell us about yourself by adding to your Bio in the next section (if you haven't already done so).
    7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.

That last part is important, and not doing that is the reason several of us were frustrated when Sherri first figured out that this was how to fix our avatars.  Let me know if you have any more problems!

    Have a beadiful day!

Lyilha you're not the only one who has been bothered by this.  We had a thread about six weeks ago where Sherri figured out how to get these to come out sharp and details about how to get them in there, etc.  http://www.beadingdaily.com/forums/t/3298.aspx?PageIndex=1

    I hope it helps!

Everyone's avatars look clear on my screen too.  Wonder why they look blurry on some but not others.

Hi Jeni ~ It might be our screen resolution settings because I haven't seen any fuzzy avatars here yetConfused  My monitor is new but even on my old one and mine at home they aren't fuzzy.

I was starting to worry that it was just me not seeing fuzzy avatars & that my beautiful fairy was fuzzy[:'(]

Hope you have a wonderful weekendCool

    Re: Avatar Pics

You know, MelindaB, you might be right.  Just about all the ones I see from this computer are fuzzy...very few aren't.  Also, some of the pics dont show at all.  I bet that has alot to do with it.  I will have to check from my laptop at home!

    Re: Avatar Pics

Lyilha ~ There are avatars that don't show for me here at work & they are the ones usually loaded from Flickr rather than a harddrive. I can see all of them at home but my work computer has lots of blocked sites especially the "social ones".  I hope your laptop works better for you.

    Sherri S.:
Pam, thanks for showing Lyilha where the thread was

Double the thanks, I couldn't find it when I looked and ended up typing out the steps again.  Most of the avatars I see with my monitor (old Compaq) are blurry.  Sherri's, Pam's, and Lois' are clear, as is mine now.  But Melinda and Jeni, yours are blurry.

    Have a beadiful day!
