    Re: Seed Bead Cuff

That is the weirdest coincidence-I just saw a person wearing a very similar style bracelet on TV the other night (not beaded, but a braided-looking cuff bracelet), and I idly wondered if you could make something like that in beads.  I guess now I know the answer!

    Very cool, I like it!

When I was at the wedding I picked it up and was thoroughly examining to try it out and it looked pretty simple to me. Not saying it looked easy, especially considering memory wire and seeds but I think Jeannie laid it out pretty well for you. I have seen a tutorial for one, actually just the other night before this was posted but I opted not to get it because I think I can do one without it. If you want the link for the tutorial Pam just let me know and I'll send it your way. Big Smile

I will look it up here shortly and send the link your way! I found it on a  site on my adventures with wire and really like it for tutorials and stuff.

You poor thing, Does it ever stop raining there?

That is such a cool idea.  I love the colors and the geometric concept of it.  I can see why it took so many tries - it looks very complex, but you did an awesome job with it.

I love that cuff and I can so see myself wearing something like that. Excellent job. Love the colors on my monitor it is silver and turquoise is that correct?

I don't think I will have the patients to do that with memory wire. Just too hard to handle that stuff. But I envoy you for having the patients to do it.Wink

     Thanks Connie and SUe,

The larger seed beads are gold.  I use large beads on top and bottom of each row to cap it off and make it look more finished.  Creatively yours, jeannie

Jeannie, do you make the Bath and Body on your website too?  NICE!  I do some of that...mostly perfume and I do make a wicked good lip balm if I do say so myself though I usually make some extra at Christmas for family like lotion or muscle rub, etc.

I do make the lip balm, soaps and bath salts myself and sell them in my spa.  I also make body lotions and body butters, but only for friends, family, customer requests and myself.  I don't display it anymore in my spa or my website.   I sell the Cuccio body butter because the laws changed in my town...and I needed a body lotion/butter line.

My lip balms are selling out fast right now because they have SPF in them.  Thanks for asking, now back to work.  jeannie

    Re: Seed Bead Cuff

Jeannie, your seed bead cuffs are gorgeous.  I've just started trying to make jewelry and just recently joined this board.  I am so inspired by what I see here.  I'm not very good at stringing beads, but after I saw your cuff I played a bit with the memory wire and was surprised at how much I like working with it.  If someone would be so kind to send me a link to that tutorial, I would greatly appreciate it.  I can get the seed beads on the memory wire and I can even attach all the strands to another piece of wire to sort of finish off, but my bracelet doesn't look nearly as good as any as I've seen on here.  The strands don't stay close together for one thing.  I would love to be able to make some of these for myself and maybe a couple of friends for gifts.

Csptex, These are great gifts, everyone loves them.

I'm not aware of any tutorial, but maybe someone here can help you find one or knows of one.  To keep the bracelet looking neat you have to cut all the memory wire to the  exact same length and all the looped ends have to be looped the exact same distance from the end.  You want to attached all the memory wire to one side first with a bead in between each wire.  Just keep working at it, it take patience and practice. I'm sure you'll do just fine.  jeannie

    Re: Seed Bead Cuff

Jeannie, thanks so much for your reply.  You mean there's no secret, like somehow connecting the strands together?  Your bracelets look sooooo good, I can't believe the strands are not somehow connected to each other.  Do you use memory wire as well to connect all the strands at the end?  I'll keep practicing and maybe someday I can make one I'll feel good about giving as a gift.  Does it matter if some of the beads are different sizes?  I thought that might be one problem with what I'm doing.

    Re: Seed Bead Cuff

Sorry, one more question.  Is there a "size" or type of memory wire that's best used in these bracelets?
