I used almost 3 strands of beads for this. A 15-16 inch strand of the 6mm, almost a strand of the longer tubes and almost a strand of the shorter tubes. So just a heads up for those that are considering trying this.

I can't wait to get some different beads and try it again! Oh what an excuse to place an order with FMG!

Melinda-- Holland MI???? Did I ever tell you I grew up in South Haven MI, just 30 miles south of Holland? Hmmm.... can't remember if we've had this conversation or not.... oh well. If so, you get to hear it again! One of my favorite bead stores was in Holland, but it's gone now.

Yes Lois ~ Holland MichiganWilted Flower...It is so beautiful there.

My sister-in-law Amie grew up there and she met my brother at college.  When they got married they lived in Alaska but they moved back there in 2001 I think and lived there until he passed away in 2006.  Amie & my 2 nieces still live there and we've been to visit several times in different seasons.  There was a bead store the 1st time (Blue Moon maybeTongue Tied) that we went to that I loved & the next time we went it was gone but then we found another one near the Swimming Pool that was lots of fun too.  I can't remember the name but Amie thinks its still open.  Small WorldCool

Isn't it though! Too funny. South Haven was too small to have much in it, so we were always having to go to Holland or Kalamazoo to shop. If you couldn't get it at Walmart, the grocery store, or the hardware store, you had to leave town! I miss the trees.... Just NOT the same here in Utah.

    Re: Newest Bracelet

I love the tulips in Holland... they are so beautiful.  We were planning on going there this summer but instead the girls are coming to AK for 6 weeks of fun with us.  I have 4 more nieces that live here along with 4 nephews so it will be big time fun for family.  I hope we have good weather for most of itParadise

My middle brother travels to Utah for work at least 3 times a year but I'm not sure exactly where... just outside of Salt Lake City I think.  This beading world is getting smaller all the timeStick out tongue

HA! Yeah, it does! Yes, Tulip Time in Holland, almost as good as the real thing in the Neatherlands! MAJOR dejavue when I visited there a few years ago. It's no wonder the dutch settled that area of MI.

Funny that your brother comes here to Utah, but then, my grandparents ended up in Alaska with the family! And that was leaving Utah.

It is amazing how peoples lives cross through their families... someday I want to see the Tulip Parade.  I have heard that Seattle has a pretty good Tulip Time in the Spring too... maybe I can make that one sometimeWilted Flower

Melinda - You are most welcome! I will be checking in a few times so feel free to send me a note if something doesn't make sense. I sent Melinda the instructions to be my test subject to see if they make sense. I will be posting them in the next day or so for anyone else!

    Re: Newest Bracelet

Oh Sheila, thank you!!!!  I think Lois' idea for submitting it is great too, it sure is good enough and then some.  It could be a project for people to use up some of their bead stash.  I definitely have enough leopard jasper for that.

I do believe I will have to by some small 'fake' turquiose beads in smaller sizes to try to make a similar one. ' Betcha' my wife would wear it even though she can tell if it's real on not.  [She's my expert on turquoise.]

Hee hee! I love the good stuff, but sometimes you just have to go with the fake! SOme  of it is quite good too.... this WOULD be stunning in turquoise!

I love the jasper but especially the way you put it together!  There are so many unique stones out there on the market.   Very, very nice design.

I remember Holland, MI.  We went up there a time or two to the Tulip Festival with school as part of a field trip and once with my mom, dad, and a couple of aunts and uncles.  The fields are so beautiful in the spring.  Do they still have the festival?
