Beaded stretchy hair huggers (e-combs,hair zings)

 Does anyone have a pattern and the knowledge to bead a set of stretchy hair combs (like e-z combs or hair zings) I have been searching everywhere and as a novice, I can't figure it out myself. Any help would be appreciated.

 im not even positive i know what you are talking about, but what i'd do is find one in the store like you are looking for and reverse engineer it. Take it apart or stare at it and figure out how they made and it go from there. Maybe try an online search for em too.

I just saw an advertisement for something like you've described on TV, but haven't seen the real item, yet.  Is it crisscrossed to begin with, or do you just flip it over on one end to get that effect?

I was really intrigued by it, and interested yesterday...But I got my hair done today, and she cut it SHORT!!! Don't think I'll be using those combs any time soon...it will grow tho, right?

 I didn't reply to this post because I simply had nothing constructive to offer.  Learning how to create hair accessories is on my learn-to-do list, but I've not done anything about it yet.

I wasn't referring to just this post...but don't worry, I'm OK, didn't mean to sound like a whiner.

I am really enjoying all the interaction on all the conversations (Do you call them "threads" ?).   How can I make sure I see all the most recent posts on different topics?

All this wedding talk makes me melancholy.  My DH and I will be celebrating 19 years this year. We have 5 children, but no new weddings on the horizon...maybe I'll just have to be content to wait for the grandchildren to get married (hopefully that will be a LONG wait ! ! !)

I'm new to Forums & threads so I would get confused when people would say to post under a specific topic but then I realized I just read them all & post if I think I can contribute something remotely useful.

 Beth-- I'm sorry! I would have responded! I think part of it is I don't see your posts in the threads (yes, that's what they're called-- good for you on picking that up!) I read most often! I think you might find you get more responces if you post comments in the section area called "general Beading Discussions"  under "bead chat", "reader showcase"  and those topics. I believe those are the ones most read, so you'll get more responces there! Hope that helps. I know that sometimes it takes a little know-how to find the best interaction!

 I have seen the stretchy ones on TV but not sure how would be best to do it. Buy two of the combs and string stretchy cord between them. It would have to be knotted but I just wonder about durability.

As far as the original post, you can take thin wire and wire wrap beads to the combs or hair clips. You can also glue pretty little flat back crystals. But that is about all I have. I just don't know how durable any of it would be.

If you are referring to the ones I think you are, If you have one, Sally's Beauty Supply had some in the store. I was also looking at them and trying to determine how they were put together.

 I was in walgreens the other day and saw these combs you are talking about. They are pretty and look very easy to do if you just buy one as a model and go to it :) They came in a 2 pack for something like 7.99 or 9.99 i dont remember now.  I was very sick when i saw them, i was there to get antibiotics for bronchitius and a sinus infection. It's been 3 days and i'm already feeling way better, thats some good antibiotics they gave me :) But then again im comparing to the fact that i usually don't go to the dr and i regularly get sinus infections or bronchitius :P
