    Website issues (photos especially)

I thought you might appricate (I hope) some suggestions for the webpage. My IT husband and I searched the entire page for a "contact us" link, and this was the closest thing we found, and that took me 10 minutes to find. Most webpages have a link at the very bottom that allow users to send an email to the webmaster, usually to tell them of a problem within the site.

I also think you need to find some other method of allowing users to post images. We tried (and yes, we did find the user's instructions posted) for 30 minutes, with no success. I have to admit, being able to get feedback from others about my designs is at LEAST half of the reason I wanted to parcitipate in a beading community. If I'm not able to do that, then, sadly, I might as well find another one that will. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look into this! If not, then you need to post VERY CLEAR and PRECISE instructions for how to go about posting photos.

The only issue that I find with the photographs is that when you click on the "Enlarge Image" button, all that happens is that a larger window opens. The image is still the same size, only now, in a larger window!  I must say that this seems to be a very general problem with websites, but it annoys me when I want to see the detail and all I get is a large window with nothing bigger than before!

Lois, I think a revamp is in the works based on comments Michelle has made, so don't give up quite yet!  I can't do more than post a link to my photo gallery, so I'm eagerly awaiting this too.

I second that Lois, I had to go looking for the means to contact someone in answering a post this morning, I finally found it under Help and Faq in tiny, tiny lettering way at the bottom.  And a whole lot of people have inordinate difficulties posting images.  If Michelle is working on this already that's wonderful!  If not, add my PLEASE to  Lois'...  This is a great site...I absolutely love the forums as well as the rest of it...but if you don't have any idea how to post an image it's very hard to find out, and a contact link is just plain basic.

Until I asked Michelle, I was unable to find the addy for customer service -- some more hidden fine type.

If beading daily is in fact working on improvements, I hope the users here will be patient.  I've been a member of other forums that have grown and have gone through multiple improvements.  It's a learning process.  I haven't posted any pictures yet, but that's only because I don't have an online photo account anywhere.

If I were to add suggestions it would be that the previous/next post and previous/next pages buttons be put on both the top and bottom on the threads.  I do a lot of scrolling.

I don't have a date yet of when the new version of the Beading Daily website will launch, but be assured that we are very aware of all the problems with the website, including the photo posting problem.

Thanks for posting this--I'll be sure our tech team sees it--it's a good reminder that I'm not the only one who really wants to see improvements to this website.  Please keep all your good suggestions and ideas coming!

When I do a 'Search' in the forums, I'd apreciate having the results in date order, rather than the current [apparently] random order.  (My last search had 23 pages -- 230 messages!

oooooh stan, that's a great thought!

And Michelle, thanks for keeping us posted on it. We like knowing we've been heard, and knowing that things are moving forward, even if we can't see it. I know these kinds of re-design projects take forever, we'll try to be patient.
