Furbabies- Post your pics!

Yeah, GO NICOLE!!!!  Beautiful furbabies!!!  Fred just breaks my heart, what a face!!!!  You can almost see the ADHD.  Take us right over and show us more   Stan is right, that's what it's for!

 Dagmar-- HA! We had a cat that would climb the christmas tree! And she wasn't even supposed to be IN the main part of the house. But she'd sneak in, and you'd hear someone call "cat in the tree!" Christmas time was the only time she'd make REAL effort to sneak in. Something about the tree just CALLED to her I guess.

 Lois, you know that cats are supposed to be in trees? Maybe they just listen to the tree spirits and that is where they all get their mischief ideas from. It's like voices in their heads.

Once I decorated the tree and suddenly it had eyes, looking at me. But once she realized that I've seen her........wow, down the tree like a flash (this time without breaking any deco bulbs)!

 Yup, "cat in the tree" and "Bird on the floor!" That last one STILL gets said, as Cricket will decide she just HAS to follow one of us if we've left the room. I  think I"d be worried about Tiger Lilly hearing voices from our chirstmas tree, it was fake! But I love that your cat HID in the tree! Too funny.

My M-i-L's cat Spook does that. Her tree is fake (allergies), but it's a nice one, so I guess she (the cat) had good claw-holds in there. Sometimes we'd walk down the hallway and see an extra set of "lights" on the tree. We made sure to ignore her, because she's very skittish, and she was always very careful going up and down, but if you startled her, all bets were off. :P Ornaments, tree 'branches' and who knows what else would go flying. heh.

She's a very playful cat, as long as she doesn't think you'll move toward her while you're playing. She and Rainey are great playmates. :p They chase each other through the house, at a gallop. Apparently from downstairs, it sounds like a herd of elephants. heheh.

when Rainey decided she liked it too.As I'm sure you all know, it's hard to catch critters in action (especially with a bad camera). So, these are fuzzy, but I think you can see what's goin' on! :P I never did get a clear picture of that thing. XD

This little guy showed up in my parents' garage a couple of years ago. Ginger was not pleased! (I know people joke and say that Canadians have pet beavers, but I'd never seen one before. haha. We're not even sure how it managed to get in, since Ginger's pretty watchful. o.o)

Anywho, off to finish packing!

What great shots you get of these animals Nicole!!  NICE.  Hey, you can have a beaver for a pet if you want too...why not?  Ginger looks positively overjoyed.  I think sometimes dogs just love to be useful and when something wild shows up they're all ready to defend and take care of their people!!!  The cats are sweet too...Rainey is trying to tell you she wants a necklace too!!!

.. I just had this mental image of Rainey with an ornament drape on her head. She'd never let it stay there, but oh my goodness, if I could get a picture of that..! Maybe while she's sleeping? (But no, she's such a light sleeper.. lol)

Thanks! heheh. I can't claim the beaver pictures (those my mom took.. look at those little whiskers in the first pic! hee!) I have fun taking pictures of them, even if half of them end up looking like a fur-coloured streak shooting across the shot. XD I do get some rare nice ones. I don't get many where you can actually see what their eyes look like, so I'll share this one. ^-~

I took out my birthday roses to trim the ends, and Rainey took an interest. She tore a wee piece off of one petal before I could stop her! heheh. Balancing a camera, and roses.. oh dear! I've got a picture of that rose somewhere, but I can't find that. I love how glossy her fur is~ >^-^<

Oh yes, definitely! XD She's such a great guard dog, but she's getting so old.. she walks out of the garage, barks once, and then goes back inside if it's someone she knows well. If it isn't, she keeps barking, but not as ferociously as she used to (which isn't really that comforting to whomever she's barking at. XD She's still very intimidating.) My parents are talking about getting another dog now (possibly a puppy, since my brother's been wanting to get one for himself for a really long time now), just so that they can be sure the place is safe, I guess. And I would guess to run off the rodents, since Ginge is getting lazy about that lately. haha. I'll be sad to see that old girl go.. :| She's a sweetheart.

Maybe that would be a good idea, getting the puppy and let it learn from Ginger how to be a guard dog.

 

 I totally relate with wanting to feel safe.  That's why we got our dog Rocky.  Hubby was traveling a lot and I had a solicitor get nasty with me.  Went out to the shelter and got Rocky.  He looks mean, sounds mean, but is the biggest woos (how do you spell that?) LOL.  Rocky's getting older now too and I wonder what I want to do.  I certainly feel safer with him here. 

 SMART woman, Kristen! That is no fun. It's funny how many of those dogs DO look mean, sound mean, and are total Wusses! Or big old softies! I knew a HUGE rottweiler who would bark at you like he'd take your leg off. But the moment you got out of the car, he'd be belly up for rubs. SO funny.

I would recommend getting a puppy now.. It not only will keep Rocky around longer.. but the dog will also learn how it is to behave.. Trixie was doin terrible and then we got Pepper.. and she perked right up.. then when we lost trixie... we got a puppy and pepper was like a puppy herself again..

As far as stories of doggies and furbabies go.. When my brother and sister were 3 & 4.. Trixie was just a baby herself.. maybe 4-5 months.. And my brother and sister were playing in the front yard.. and someone came up to ask them for directions.. (with the passenger side door open....) Trixie went through the screen.. If it weren't for the screen scratching at her eyes, she probably would've went the entire way.. but she barked and growled.. and my dad went out there..

 

The lab mix they have now, Shadow.. would do that for my niece in a heart beat.. Shadow likes selena a lot.. selena was about 3 or so.. and in my parents backyard playing ball with the puppy and I'd stepped inside to grab her some juice I think.. and I'd barely gotten up the stairs into the kitchen and Shadow was growling.. I go booking it back outside and she's standing between Selena and the fence.. where someone We never saw before.. or since was trying to reach over the fence for my niece. Shadow bared teeth and almost bit..

I really love lab mixes.. these two would be why.I just wish I had pictures of Trixie...

OMG Krista, that would have frightened me terribly...how lucky you all were that Shadow was there!!!

I finally was able to get pictures of my furry friends without them looking like devil animals with the blue or red camera eye. My furbabies are getting up there in age. Tally is my Silky Terrier and is 11 years old (still acts like a puppy at times). And Guapo is my brown and grey Tabby? - I think this is what the hubby said (I inherited him when we got married) who is 12 years old. Believe it or not these two did not grow up together, and while Guapo had been around other dogs, Tally had never seen a cat in her house until Guapo, but they get along wonderfully! Mornings are a hoot at my house as these 2 are full of energy, chase each other around the house, and make mischief. The best is when Guapo gets tired of Tally and will smack her in the nose with his paw!

Leigh, they are beautiful!  Tally is adorable with all that fluffy hair and Guapo is so handsome!  They sound very sweet and full of spunk in spite of their age.
