    Re: Bead Barter Guidelines

If you click on the heading to the left that says Bead Barter, it will give you a listing of what people have up for trade right now. If you are looking for something specific, you can click on New Post and post what you are looking for. Then people who are interested can post or e-mail you.

If you want in on the Bead Swap, I belief that #2 is closed. But you can e-mail Dawn who is Sunrise Surprise and she will take your info for bead swap #3.

    Thanks!

This Guidelines thread is all I can find on this forum.  Have all the completed trades been deleted from the forum?

Yes Stan they seem to remove all the "completed" posts about a week or so after they are flagged COMPLETED.
And currently there dont seem to be any open trades. So if someone wants to trade something I guess they have to open a new post/thread themselfs.

Yeah, that would be me doing that. I leave them up after they close long enough for all parties involved to see that it is over, then I delete them. I figured that it would be easier to keep up with current trades if there weren't a lot of old closed out ones, ya know. You can see immediately what's currently up and all that stuff.

If there is something in particular that you would like to see put back, just let me know. I can do that too. All deleted threads are kept in an archive and can be restored in the same way that they were removed. Easy peasy, ya know.

You misunderstood something somewhere. I only delete CLOSED or COMPLETED trade threads. If there are a hundred completed trades on a page, it makes it hard to find the ones that are NOT done, ya know.

As a Moderator, I am supposed to keep the place neat and clean as well as orderly if possible. *laughz* Orderly is the hard part. *grinz* As I said, if something needs to be restored, it can be without any major hassle.

Thanks, Billy.  I was just surprised one day when I went there, and all I saw was the Barter Guidelines -- a little bit of a start, what?  You are correct [of course] -- but sometimes I suspect the whole site would be improved if certain posts/threads were deleted, but that would be censorship, so this is the last comment I'll make on that.

No probs had153, things happen, ya know. *grinz*

Stan, please feel free to comment on anything. The site is based in America so freedom of speech still applies. However, if you see something that is offensive and/or profane that I missed, please let me know and I will take care of it. Other than the staff, I am the only Moderator at this time(that I am aware of anyway) and I may miss things from time to time, so any pointers are greatly appreciated. If you want, you can just e-mail me and no one will know about it except us. That way, there can be no hard feelings among the members, ya know.

I was a Senior Moderator at GameTalk.com from August 2000 until a few months ago when Mike shut the site down for revamping. I really enjoy the job. It gives me the warm fuzzies to know that I am a part of the crew and all of that rot, ya know. *grinz* Michelle was too cool to give me the job when I volunteered for it. I just hope that i can do it to her expectations, ya know.

Congrats!  It gives me the warm fuzzies Billy to know you got this job, I think you are perfect for it, very diplomatic.  Cool

    Re: Bead Barter Guidelines

Ok, so here's my situation (and please understand that the following is in no way an attempt to advertise myself): I have a lot of beads to destash. I put a lot of them up in etsy before discovering this bead barter forum. I have no resale tax id or any of that fancy stuff. Less than once a week I'll get a sale from that destash, of about $3. Does this make me a commercial vendor? Does $3 a week at most make it an occasional source of income?

I wish to respect the rules of this forum, and not post here if I'm not wanted.

    Re: Bead Barter Guidelines

brightcircle - Please go back and read the original post in this thread. I think you will find some guidelines that may help you make a decision.

If these beads are posted on any other site for sale, you cannot list them here. You can only list one a week. And only 8 items within that posting. We all have items to destash but think that some common sense is what they are asking.

Another thought would be if you are willing to take other beads in trade rather than money? I hope this and the original posting will help you decide if this is something you should do or not.

I am not in any way speaking on behalf of the site, just a member hoping to help you out with your question.

    1. Go to Forums
    2. Go to General Beading Discussions
    3. Go to the bottom of General Beading Discussions
    4. At the left-hand side ( in this block), click on Bead Barter

If there are things for trading, they will be listed below the "Guidelines" post.
