     Sounds Great!!

I'd also like to volunteer to be a moderator. I was a senior mod for GameTalk.com for almost 10 years before they shut the site down for revamping. I am here as much as anyone and more than most because of my odd sleeping habits so I can catch things when no one else in control is online. I can tell you how to reach the owner of Gametalk if you would like a recomendation from him. I can help in other ways if needed as I have a rich background in HTML coding and web page design. Beyond that, I have a 25 year background in electronics, including computers and networks. This will all be volunteer of course. I am disabled and retired and NEED somthing to do with limited mobility. Thanks for at least thinking about it.

Shawna brought up an interesting point for clarification in the bead swap post, so I'll ask the essence of it again just for curiosity's sake.

If someone had used a polymer clay cane to make beads for a project and had leftovers that they didn't need, would this be considered making your own beads?

THANK YOU MICHELLE ( and the staff )!

Jeni - I would think that your example would be allowed since this would not be an ongoing selling of those beads. If a person was making them strictly to sell here, then that would be not allowed. But that is just my thought!

    Re: Bead Barter Guidelines

I love the idea of exchanging beads. I have plenty that I've had for so long that I've just given up on them. It would be great to give them to someone who could make something fantastic in exchange for something new and exciting! All that extra stuff is weighing me down anyhow...maybe I'll see if I have anything good to put up for trade!

Yes, Sheila's right.  If every once in awhile you had some leftover handmade beads, that would be fine.  What we don't want is for this to become a primary sales outlet like Etsy.  (Not that there's anything wrong with Etsy, it's just that this is not the place for that.)

On the subject of moderation, I am working on getting some official moderators here very soon.  I have my eye on a few of you who I think would really be terrific.  If that's something you're interested in, please email me.

I hope to see some trading here!  I'll be writing about this for Beading Daily in a few weeks and I'd love to report on some happy, successful trades.  (I'll try to go through my own stash this weekend.)

     Hooray for Bead Bartering!

I'm going through my stash again....

I will be a swallow, winging to warmer climes on the breath of the storm. I will be a deer, running swifter than the sunlight, sheltering in the birch thickets. I will be a salmon and swim the length of this great water in powerful surges; my scales will throw back the silver gleam of the Shining One like a melody of bright notes....Juliet Marillier

    Greetings Fellow Beaders!

I'm new here, and I read the BarterGuidelines, but I seem to be missing something.  How do I get to the actual page where people have stuff listed they want to barter?

    thanks... just call me,
