    question about metal category

I have a question about the metal category for the beadstar competition. I know any wire work needs to be simple, but I'm not sure how far I can go before its considered too complicated and I'm disqualified. Can I use wire bent into simple coils and "S" shapes? And can I hammer the shapes to flatten them?

    thanks,

    Erin

    Erin,

I have a feeling that you and I will need to email Michelle Mach directly to ask our questions about the contest categories.  I've been waiting about 10 days for an answer to my question in this forum and no one has responded to my question.

    Re: question about metal category

Sorry for the delay! We have been in Tucson since Feb 2nd.

The answer to your question is: pieces using wire must use only simple loops, wrapped loops, wire bails, crimping, or jump rings. If your piece is predominantly hammered spirals, I'd say it is not for this contest. What I would suggest is that you submit such work to Step by Step Wire Jewelry as a possible project!

    thanks, Leslie.

I think that makes it pretty clear.
