OMG! They look just like the real ones that come and dive bomb me in my backyard. At least I don't have to worry about it with these birds. (lol)  Blue jays are pretty, but boy, are they mean!

These earrings are lovely, I just love the half hour coffee break I give myself to have a look around and see what everyone is up to.

I just love all the bead work that you clever people get up to and the beautiful pieces of jewellery. There is something very satisfying about making things and especially pieces of handcrafted jewellery that you can wear knowing that it is a unique piece.

Maxine0802:

It's cool but I really want to know why the earrings are called brick stitch earrings.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe, that they are called brick stitch, because that is the stitch that was used to achieve the the design. I know they look like peyote stitch, however with peyote stitch it would be much harder to achieve all the angles.  I hope this helps with your question.

Happy Beading!!

I love this pattern. In the book, you can also make a pair of cardinal earrings! I make these to wear at our local Johns Hopkins Bluejay Lacrosse games! You have surely perfected this stitch!!! Much better than me, being a Loomie! lol

Oh, this pair of jay earrings are so vivid! I love the theme, and there are lots of Tang poetry writing about it, perhaps they are sub-specials! ANyway, love your earrings, nice stitch!
