Submitting a tutorial to Step by Step Wire Magazine

    Hello!

I'd like to know if i could submit my tutorial to Step by Step Wire Magazine?

I'm in Indonesia and currently not a subscriber.

If i could, I'd like to know a few things

    1. Will i get paid? how much?

    2. Will i get a copy of the magazine sent to my house?

    3. What type of file should i submit? any restriction about the size?

it's a tutorial of the toggle clasp i used in my newest piece "Sun Sparks"

it has about 29 pictures in it :)

oh, yeah,  I OFFER FREE TUTORIAL FOR 10 GUINEA PIGS *cough* i mean FRIENDS

please for serious learners only.. i know not all of you are interested on learning how to make a clasp of my style. so please don't take the chance just because it's free. i would like to give a fair chance to those who really want it Cheesy

Re: Submitting a tutorial to Step by Step Wire Magazine

     Hi Popnicute,

    Answering your questions...

    1. Yes, you will get paid if we decide to publish your tutorial. The rate you get paid is determined by the editor, and something you'll have to discuss with her should we decide to use the tutorial.

    2. If your tutorial gets published, you are entitled to 4 gratis copies, and I'd send you more ordering information around the time the issue is being published.

    3. First, if you can send me a clear and larger photo of your project, I'd appreciate it. (sgraham (at) interweave.com). Then I'll submit it to the editor, who will determine if it's a good match for the magazine. Then, we'll let you know how to proceed.

Should your project be accepted, here are the guidelines, http://www.stepbystepwire.com/wire/wire-writersguidelines.pdf.

We will need a text file of the written project in Microsoft Word (an older version, like 2003 is preferred), and photos (either jpg or tiff) at least 3" x 3" in size at 300 dpi (high resolution). Do not crop or edit/Photoshop photos...if the photos are bigger than 3" x 3" that's fine. Please do not embed the photos in a Word file as they will be unusable to publish. We recommend that you send at least one photo for every step, and label them clearly so we know what photo goes with what step. We also require you submit a head shot and a short bio.

If anyone else has questions about submitting to our magazine, or would like to propose a tutorial please don't hesitate to contact me at sgraham (at) interweave.com

    Thank you,

    Sara
