    Colored Rubber O Rings

I have saw a new book (Link It, by Susan Thomas) at the book store last nite.  Of course, I now have several ideas in my head.  But seem to be unable to find the colored or rubber o-rings.  Any Ideas?

    Hi,

You could try your local hardware stores?...

I tried looking for some a while ago through google, just be aware that some of the results in google are not beading related!

What size are you talking about? Are you talking about very tiny colored rubberbands? Smaller than the ones for the end of pony tails?

    Good Luck and Thanks!

Sorry. I went out and found the site on the internet and they are like o rings not rubber bands. The rubberbands I was thinking of would get brittle and break.

Definately try a hardware store but you may be limited to colors.

    Good Luck and Thanks!

I plan on looking at home depot or lowe's in the next week, but i think the colors will be limited also.  Was just hoping for an idea i might of missed :).  Fire Mountain has some, and the ring lord now has them.  But i cant afford the ring lord assorted package this week, and fire mountain desnt have an assorted package yet.  Was kinda hoping to get that as it is normally cheaper, at least while i learn how to do it, and what i want to do with it.

I am good friends with Susan Thomas and she gets her rings from Fire Mountian Gems. And  she  sometimes teaches her classes at a store in Indianapolis. Indiana called Bead Angels. I  hope that helps.

They are called O! Rings, and are available in many sizes and colors from Fire Mountain.

I LOVE these things, but it would be nice if they would do assortment packages.  Right now, you have to buy each color separately.  I would not want a mix of sizes, but color mixes would be nice.

There are also a couple of sellers on eBay who offer them, but they are just splitting up pkgs from Fire Mountain!  Wink

If you have a friend (or two or three) you can combine an order with, you can get the better pricing structure from FM and make it a little less financially painful to get some!

I have the ones from FMG too, and the price wasn't too bad, but I stuck mine in as padding for another order to get to the next discount level!  I've only used them in 1 project so far, but it turned out fine, although I ended up going just a bit crazy with it.

I too bought the book LINK IT!  I've been searching on the internet and finally found where they have rubber rings that we need.  Go to www.metaldesignz.com.  Click on RUBBER RINGS down the right side.  They even refer to the book.  The www.theringlord.com had a conversion chart for the book but only carry the 12.x8x2 and the 10x6x2.

I have found the colored O Rings showing up at more sites. http://www.bluebuddhaboutique.com/ has them, no assortments yet that i have seen.  But they have a complete project listing from the Link It book that tells you what size, how many, and colors for each project.
