    Pam:
By the way, has anyone noticed that Jen's original post here was June 10th last year?  When Ash picked up on this thread yesterday I don't know if she saw that or not.

Haha! I totally didn't notice that this thread started a year ago. Funny!

But isn't it funny how it's happening all over again a year later?  Or at least here in the Gulf South.  We always have high humidity but usually have afternoon showers to cool things off, at least for a bit.  But, this summer we've hardly had any rain and the temps have been near 100 - coupled with the high humidity = MISERY!!!!

    Billy Z:
I broke a rib last Wednesday night climbing out of the pool. I slipped on the ladder and my right ribcage caught the edge of the deck. Thankfully, it's just one. I had 6 broken and 4 cracked once and it was pure torture for a month or two. The doc tried to pop a couple of needles in the area this morning to see if that would help today, but no dice. bone pain is HARD to control.
Oh Billy, the thought of that just makes me grit my teeth.  OW!!!  As if you need more pain!  I'm praying for you, sending you healing love bubbles...

Well, I think it's kind of to be expected that it's happening all over again a year later...if I were Mother Nature Cathy, I'd send you some of our rain and take a little heat up here in exchange for it.  But then it's probably a really good thing I'm not Mother Nature...I'd really screw things up!

Ash, no problem missing the date, this is a good thread!

Billy I just read about your rib.  I hope you are feeling better soon.

Pam, thanks, I would take you up on the offer except have you noticed that there've been no Atlantic hurricanes yet?  If that's because of this record heat we're having (we reached 100 yesterday and today - record breakers), I'd rather keep the heat and have no hurricanes!!  I'd be happy to never see another one but that's not realistic living where I do.

You're right Cathy.... you haven't had any hurricanes have you.  That's GOOD!  If I lived in Baton Rouge I'd pretty likely run screaming just from a weather report of a hurricane!!!!

OK, the heatwave is now here, too. When I saw you all replying to this post, there was no heat here, but now it is. The temps are not really high, but the humidity is. It's like in a tropical rainforest and you sweat just sitting here. Cool And we have BAD thunderstorms and many people were already injured this year being hit by a lightning. Storm

Well, it's too bad the humidity has increased so much Dagi, that's what's happening in the South here in the USA and it's hard to take, I know.  But I sure wish we'd get some warmth up here in NH, it's just one rainy chilly day after another up here.

This time Last year,we were in Iowa, Watching Weather Reports for Tornado's. This Year were in Arizona,Watching Weather Reports for Flash Flooding. Our First Summer to be here in Arizona during the Monsoon Season. Stepping out of the A/C in the RV into the out doors, is like sticking your head in an oven. The Automotive A/C can't keep up with the outside heat (over a 100 some days)Boy! the rain is a Welcome Guest by the Locals. It is so interesting to me, to hear about the weather from all of you. Thanks for Sharing.

Hope your Rib has return to normal.Gyspy Mary

(((Billy)))  I was wondering why you haven't posted much.  I've never broken a bone, but I have to imagine that it hurts to just breathe with a broken rib.  OUCH.  I hope it heals quickly!

We're totally opposite here. (Western Pa. )  We can hardly hit 80* Some days we barely hit 70* It's a terribly cool summer.  Temps in the 50's at night. (which is nice)  People with pools can't even use them. What a waste.

To us 4th of July is summer half over. It's barely even started here yet. :(  Not that I mind a whole lot, I like it cooler, but I would like to hit a pool once or twice this summer before it's over.

Kirsten I LOVE that cross. I did see your post on how to make it. Unfortunately I'm not that good of beader to do it. I just LOVE those Swarovski crystals. I make suncatchers and have them in the sunny windows.

Re: Anyone else on the East Coast U.S. in this heatwave?

It's healing, slowly but surely. Thanks for the well wishes and prayers. That helps out more than anything else. Really, everything is better when you KNOW that people care, ya know.

It's not as hot today(93), but the humidity is 97%. It is starting to cloud up, so I am hoping for some rain. Believe it or not, the rain will actually lower the temp and humidity. Well, the humidity will be lower when it stops anyway. *laughz* The huidity is a witch because we have so much water around us. It's like the heat just draws the water from the rivers and makes a water vapor almost in the air. I could handle it before I had the heart attack, but now it's like trying to breathe water and I just can't swing it anymore.

I've had a house full of drunks for the past 2 days so I haven't had much time to do anything. I've been hiding in my bedroom. *laughz* Between the History Channel and Discovery, I know everything about the Founding Fathers as well as crab fishing in Alaska. If you learn something then TV isn't a total waste. *laughz*

Billy, that sounds like being trapped in a sauna.  You must be having a real tough time breathing with a broken rib and that high heat and humidity.  I hope you do get some rain to cool things off a little bit, even a lot would be nice.

I know this isn't funny but it gave me a chuckle...so much to learn...how to drive a big truck over the ice...what it takes to live with lions or grizzly bears...does the air conditioner in there work well at least?

Good to hear you're better, Billy!

Oh boy, I hate this weather with high humidity and thunderstorms and heavy showers several times a day. On Friday I had a very bad day and on top of it all walked down into  the basement of my parents' house........splish, splash.....my shoes and jeans all wet. Water in the basement! And my cats looked at me as if I can make weather and it is my fault that they got wet paws. Before we got that weather we only had chilly, rainy days and no sun. I came back from Italy and nearly had a temperature shock.

*laughz* Pam, I saw that one, too. Very informative! And who knows when and where you might need such knowledge. Stick out tongue
