Making the Perfect Bead Dangle

by Jean Campbell

Step 1: String beads onto a head pin.

Step 2: Keep the beads snug as you use chain-nose pliers to make a 90 degree bend about 1/4 inch from the top of the beads.

Step 3: Use round-nose pliers to shape the wire over the top jaw to form a partial loop.

Step 4: Move the pliers so you grasp the loop with the bottom jaw, and swing the wire under the loop so it crosses the neck.

Step 5: Use chain-nose pliers or your fingers to wrap the wire in a tight coil down the neck.

Step 6: Trim the wire close to the coil. Use chain-nose pliers to gently squeeze the cut end so it's flush with the coil.
