Bead Star 2013
Being a winner makes you a STAR!
Bead Star is an annual jewelry contest sponsored by Interweave. This year, the Bead Star contest included entries in the following 6
Crystals: Designs created using predominantly* crystals
created using predominantly* pressed-glass, fire-polished glass, sea glass,
lampworked glass, and/or any other type of glass bead.
Wireworking: Designs created using predominantly* metal beads, components,
and/or wire. Metal can be of any type or mixed.
created using predominantly* pearls of any shape, color, type, etc. Faux pearls
(including crystal and glass pearls), shell, and mother-of-pearl can be used in
Designs created using predominantly* stones of any type. We will consider coral
Emerging Artists: Open
only to entrants who have never had their jewelry published in a magazine or
book, including online magazines and books. Entries submitted in this category
can be made with any material or technique.
NEW THIS YEAR:
Beadweaving and seed bead projects.
The judging panel consisted of judges selected by the staff of Beadwork and
Jewelry Stringing magazines, including the editors; Beadwork Designer of the Year, Smadar Grossman; and Pam Arion of TierraCast.
All winning entries will be displayed at BEAD FEST PHILADELPHIA August 23rd through 25th, 2013. Photos of the winning entries will also be published in the October/November 2013 issue of Beadwork magazine, as well as the Winter 2014 issue of Jewelry Stringing magazine. Check them out--you'll find that the quality and creativity exhibited exhibited by the winning designs is extraordinary!
