Four Weeks of Beaded Bracelets Bead-A-Long! July 1-28, 2012!
 |
|
Week 1 (July 1-7, 2012)
Grommets Galore by Dulcey Heller
Dulcey Heller designed this bracelet to challenge herself to use an
unusual material. While seeking inspiration at her local hardware store,
pulling out drawer after drawer of nuts and bolts, she came across
these black rubber rings. Intended to protect insulated wire from sharp
metal edges, the grommets' grooves are perfect channels for beads!

Week 2 (July 8-14, 2012):
Heart to Heart by Carol Dean Sharpe
Follow the pattern to create a cuff of stylized hearts using increasing
and decreasing brick stitch. For the perfect ending, brick-stitch a
separate heart-shaped "button" for a button-loop closure.

This bracelet features a rainbow of picot-based flowers on a
right-angle-weave trellis. The design encircles the wrist like a
delicate corsage - a dainty and feminine piece that can be worn with

smaller beads to create rich ropes. Here, the ropes are broken up with
patterned bone beads for yet another layer of texture.
