Love Birds Necklace

The love birds connector piece reminded me of that grade school song: “Two little love birds, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g . . .” I wanted to use that connector as the centerpiece for my necklace, but it didn’t seem substantial enough on its own. I decided to create my own pendant by combining the connector with the large brass ring and a filigree tube bead. Heather poured her heart and soul into this peyote-stitched amulet bag as a way to help her cope with an illness that necessitated a hysterectomy. On one side of the beaded bag is a woman with her arms outstretched to the universe, asking and receiving healing.
