Can hardly wait to try this project!

I really wish that prices on these "cool tools" would be part of the information given. I looked up the micro fold brake on Rio Grande and they are $265.00! That's a bit much for most amateur craftpersons, including me, to spend just for fun!

I have purchased a much smaller, hand held variety of crimper roller for not a lot of money at a bead festival. It may have been originally for paper, but does have metal rollers. It has worked fine with copper tape and screen cloth but I haven't yet tried silver because of needing to anneal it. I still have the opportunity to try the design opportunities but without going broke. I suppose if I went more deeply into metalworking I would need to invest in the more expensive tool

Does anyone else have problems opening the pdf fil in scribd? I'd much rather have a plain pdf file instead of going through a third party to get the file.

Bonnie2- There are inexpensive hand-held crimpers originally designed for paper-HOWEVER, they will easily handle craft sheet metals (copper, aluminum and brass) up to 26 gauge if handled carefully. I found mine at a large "hobby" store and have used it for numerous projects such as this. Just be careful to not force heavier gauges through. Embossed or hammered pieces are way cool when crinkled and then heat or chemically patinated. If a heavier look is wanted, they can layered and cold connected with rivets, and or even with metal glues to laminate pieces. Good luck!
