Bead a cover for a journal using needlepoint or cross-stitching canvas. Some people refer to this technique as beadpoint, a combination of beading and needlepoint. Beginning in the early nineteenth century, livres du poche or "pocket books," small-format books of charts, made needlework patterns widely available. This design is based on a chart, circa l930, from a pocket book published by Maison Sajou in Paris. Finished beaded canvas measures 5 3/4" x 3 78". Instructions include a full page color chart. Originally published in the July/August 2000 issue of PieceWork, this project will be free for a limited time.
