I'm sorry, I know the creator of this bracelet probably spent a lot of time on it but simply put, it's just too much. It looks heavy, it doesn't have a focal point and it is just way too busy for my liking. Having that on my wrist for even an hour would be too long. It brings to mind my first chainmaille experience, I had hundreds of rings that had no ryhme or reason, yet I thought every ring was needed.

As the mother of a young child, I think this bracelet is perfect for both me and my boy.  I love substantial bracelets with a lot of movement, and this is just the type of thing I'd wear!  (It also actually doesn't look heavy at all to me.)  I often try to incorporate my son's photo or name or something representing my son (part of his name means "bear", so I go for a lot of bear images these days) into the jewelry I wear, and I like how I can personalize this bracelet to commemorate my son.  My son, for his part, I KNOW will be fascinated by the super-cool architecture of this bracelet and will love to touch it on my wrist.  What a bonus!  Not only can I wear something stylish and completely "me", but in a pinch it will serve to distract my super-active toddler from  mischief.  I love it!  Thank you, Jean.  This is a great design.

I love your comment, Melissa!  My friends all have young children and I'm always on the lookout for fascinating bracelets to wear that can distract them but aren't so delicate that I need to worry too much. This fits the bill perfectly.  

Given that I actually got to touch this bracelet while it was in my office for editing, I can confirm that it does have some weight to it (like any chain maille piece would), but you could easily make a lighter single-strand version if you preferred.  There wasn't even enough weight in the original for me to develop the barest suggestion of a bicep.  Hmm. . . now there's an interesting idea!  Workout jewelry!  Let's start making some iron jump rings!

If you use Aluminum for your rings you can significantly reduce the weight of any Chain Maille piece.
