Ballpoint Earrings

Download Ballpoint Earrings

The earring is worn by actually winding the spiraled part of the wire through the ear, making them easy to wear, but next to impossible to lose! The name of the project comes from the fact that a ballpoint pen is one of the tools used to make these earrings. While these earrings feature garnet rondelles, try using round beads, oval beads, stone chips, or don’t use any beads at all. A photo of this project appeared in Easy Wire magazine.

Are people hesitant to wear them? I found many people were hesitant to wear the ear chains. I think they're beautiful and elegant, but people are afraid to pull the chain thru their ear!

I found a picture of some earings quite like this on another site and made some of my own but using french hooks. They turned out really nice, made 2 pair's in just a short time. Quick to make and beautiful.

I saw these and instantly fell in love.  A novice, I took the picture to my bead store and she watched and guided along me along as I created these in less than 15 minutes.  

I elected to hang them from ear wires rather than putting the wire through my ear.

I've made these from another site's tutorial and wear them EVERY day! I absolutely love mine!!!! I've given a few as gifts as well . . . They are a big hit!

Many years ago I bought earrings like this from an artist in Santa Fe. I loved them but lost one in a move. When I saw this design in a magazine, I knew I could recreate (almost) the earring I had lost. Try using the top of a lipstick case to accomodate larger beads. They are the most comfortable earring to wear and almost impossible to lose... from wearing ;-) .

I love these. Things like this make me wish I kept my ears pierced. I can't wait to try to make these!

I have been leary about trying wire work. I think this might be a nice peice to try.
