The Zulu Flowerette Chain is worked in rows up and down the length of the chain, usually with eight or nine rows of size 11° seed beads with size 6° seed beads shared by all rows, until the desired fullness is reached. It includes a button clasp. This bracelet project is from the book, Zulu Inspired Beadwork by Diane Fitzgerald.

I have been looking for another seed bead project besides beaded crochet bracelets and just stumbled upon this Zulu flowerette chain.  It looks a little difficult for me, but I can't wait to try it.  I have soooooo many seed beads that I need to do something with and this looks like winner.  Darriel A.

Hi Diane!

Thanks for sharing! After I finish the project, I'll have to head over to the Beading Daily Forum & post a pix! Thanks! Juli ;)

I found this pattern and knew instantly I wanted to make it. Diane's instructions are very easy to follow and in no time I'd made the bracelet in ruby colored beads with cream accents at the tips. I used a brass-colored button for the closure and small brass-colored beads between the flowerettes. Thank you so much for this very versatile pattern!
