Make your own head pins out of fine silver wire. Fine silver balls quickly and doesn’t require pickle or any extra finishing. Fine silver is more expensive than sterling, but it saves time.

Any suggestions on where to buy the torch?

I bought a torch at a local hardware store, but www.beaducation.com also sells them.  Little more pricey there, though.

Walmart sells a pretty good Ronson Torch $26.  But if you don't use the right butane it will seem tedious.

The best butane is Vector Quintuplus (filtered 5 times) it really makes a cheap torch seem like magic.  It's found at Williams-Sonoma for $6

trust me on this

I sell fine silver headpins on my website like crazy!

Hi im new to this site! I am wondering if any one knows how to make the head pins that are long and flat at the bottom. Some are also tear drop shaped. I have some of these, only not many. Living in Maine its pretty hard to find some of this stuff without having to order them on line. Are these things just heated up and then hammered flat?

There is an error in your materials list, it says to use sterling wire.  Just thought you might like to change it.
