RMBO: Yes, the judging will be based on photos only. Make sure to send in one photo showing the whole piece of jewelry, then details, if desired, to give us a better look at the piece.

Magickal Hands: You can use stringing, basic wireworking, and/or beadweaving techniques.

NightfairysDreams: Yes, this contest is open to international participants. Just make sure entering is not prohibited in your country. Also, please note the the grand-prize airfare to Philadelphia is capped at a certain amount, meaning you may need to contribute to your own airfare if you win.

I have Been reading the rules for 2013 bead star and was a little curious, they do not mebtion or say anything about having to write a description of how to make the piece if it wins. I was wondering if anyone knows if this means that they are assuming that we will know that we will have to do this or dose this mean that it will no longer be required if you win? It dose look like the work will be on display in Philadelphia as well as in the winter issue I think that is very exciting.

Just wondering if someone could clarify that because it seems that you can make work that is far more complicated if you are not required to describe its execution in a short description.

I also noticed that it dose not seem to list techniques that you can or can not use just that bead waving is excepted and encouraged I just ordered a copy of the 2012 magazine to see it looks like it is required but the new rules did not make that clear

Over all I think the changes are great I, am hoping to enter a few things I think the entrance fee will help support the contest, LOVE that you can enter more then once in each category but not in more then one category for each piece!!

What a great prize! I have one question: Will the judging be based on the photos only or does the entry have to be physically submitted to the Bead Star 'office' for a closer look?
