Geodes and thunder eggs that are cut open and lightly polished are my favorites. The shapes and crystals inside can span the rainbow and make stunning pendants and bracelets with wirewrapping. You&amp;#39;re not allowed to dig the area for these crystals, but after a rain, they are just laying all over the ground. Most of the are is picked over now because so many people know of it, but they still find good ones for me when they go camping! Many of them remind me of Herkimer diamonds, they are so clear and perfect at times. I&amp;#39;m putting them in little glass vials so as not to disturb them - creating little treasures for people to wear around their necks!! &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://www.beadingdaily.com/aggbug.aspx?PostID=175560" width="1" height="1"&gt;</description></item><item><title>re: Spring Trend: Raw Gemstone Jewelry</title><link>http://www.beadingdaily.com/blogs/inside_stringing_magazine/archive/2013/01/04/spring-trend-raw-gemstone-jewelry.aspx#174923</link><pubDate>Sat, 05 Jan 2013 09:53:30 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">e599e337-6bb7-4670-8e80-180f614937ac:174923</guid><dc:creator>Linda@952</dc:creator><description>&lt;p&gt;Currently, I am playing with two entirely different gemstone projects. &amp;nbsp;The first is a triple strand necklace using 3 &amp;amp; 4 mm swarovski bicones, and ruby in zoisite. &amp;nbsp;It has peyote clasp and bezels, and has been evolving in it&amp;#39;s own directions which have been interesting, to say the least. &amp;nbsp;The second is considered to be one of the rarest gemstones. &amp;nbsp;I live in Alberta, Canada, we have something called Ammolite, which is a fossilized sea creature from when dinnosaur&amp;#39;s walked on earth. &amp;nbsp;I managed to get a piece of ammolite shell, that is encrusted with chambers opened, that reveal golden coloured crystals, I think that they are probably pyrite, but full of colour. &amp;nbsp;I have the piece on my work table, while ideas percolate from within. &amp;nbsp;I will most likely form it into a necklace or brooch, I&amp;#39;m still dreaming about this one!&lt;/p&gt;
