I have been EAGERLY awaiting the latest film interpretation of The Great Gatsby (originally slated for a December 2012 premier date), and now we are just a few short weeks away from its May 10th release! With its flapper fashions and extravagant parties, this story is meant for the big screen. The 1974 film was an absolute feast for the eyes, and it looks like this new version will push the bar even higher.
The fashion world has also been anticipating the film's release. This special feature in Fashion Magazine celebrates the glamorously architectural style of prohibition-era couture. I was particularly impressed by the jewelry that the stylist selected for this shoot and how well it captures the 1920's aesthetic of simultaneous minimalism and indulgence:

It looks like there was just as much care that went into accessorizing the actors in the new film. Classic silhouettes are complemented by simple-but-striking earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and headpieces:
I'm not sure I can pull off that headpiece as well as Carey Mulligan does, but I'll certainly be wearing my longest strand of pearls when I head to the theater for this flick!
