Trend: Chic Chevron Jewelry

May 9, 2012

I just returned from a much-needed mini-vacation in coastal Oregon. It's so gorgeous and peaceful there--my mind and body always come back relaxed and refreshed. It just so happens I come back inspired, too. Inspired by jewelry.

While driving through Portland on our way to the coast, I made my travel companions stop at some shops. At one I saw a cool, chevron-shaped metal necklace by a local jewelry designer (see below, top left). I've seen some other great chevron pieces recently, too, and thought I'd do a little round-up of some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Gold and silver necklace by Favor.
Pink dyed-jade necklace by Native.
Sterling silver necklace by Lumafina.
Leather bracelet by Son of a Sailor.

Glad you enjoyed our lovely coast, next time be sure to stop in Florence, a tiny town with some "famous" authors and lots of talented beaders in proportion to the overall population. I love chevrons.........always have since I got some badges and pins from my dad after WWII, then onto my fave car manufacturer, Citroen which has an emblem of "chevrons of prestige" on their cars. Very cool patterns on these! Hmmm...maybe I need to design a chevron-patterned necklace this afternoon.

Lucky you! Getting to go to the Oregon coast, that's my favorite place. Living here in landlocked MN, I don't get to see the ocean much... So inspiring!
