Flower-Inspired Challenge

July 2009

Several members of the Beading Daily forums decided to host their own challenge.  There were two categories:  beginning bead artists and experienced bead artists.  Members could submit up to three pieces. Most also chose to submit two photos of their piece, a full view and a detailed shot.  Winners are noted in bold.

Oh my gosh! How do I just chose one in each category! Amazing work, all of you! Some gorgeous pieces of art that were submitted! I think I have to view the pictures a few more times before I can decide on what to vote on! Excellent, all of you!

Everyone did such a great job-it was really tough to vote! I'll be interested to see who did what when the voting is finished.

I agree with Cat I have to look at all of them again. I will mill this over for a few days before I vote. Everyone has done a wonderful job. It is too hard to just pick just one. I want to pick more than one. The sad thing is it won't be mine that I pick. I was really out classed. I feel like a fish out of water. I entered the experienced and there are some far better than mine in the beginner category. Good luck to all.

I believe it is Aug. 7th, at about noon EST. I am out of town and my motel does not have a guest computer. So I thought I would use my hour at the local library to submit a vote for my own creation. (Altho' many of my competitors are certainly equally deserving!!!) Anyway, when I attempted to vote I got the message that voting was closed! I am disappointed that I did not get to vote......But I loved seeing all the other entries; they are all truly lovely! ---Karen

It's a good thing I didn't have a vote - it would have been a hard choice. I'm not a flowery type person, but there are several of these I would love to wear. Great job, everyone!

My very favourite is 21 - Passion Flower Torque - it must have taken hours! I often look at my passion flower outside my window and try and work out a way to make it in beads - and here you have done it! This is my favourite type of beading - weaving the beads to make the flowers, leaves - everything! I am fairly new to this and I live in the UK - but I have found this fab site tonight! Thanks for sharing!
