Even Wal-Mart is carrying items like beaded curtain rods

re: Beaded Home Decor Trend

I will like to see some projects with beads in clothes!!! I feel if this type of project were shown in a magazine, it'd be filled in, and generally too . . . . um, not . . . well, anyway. Partly because of how and with what types of beads they'd fill it in with. Too flashy, too . . . tacky.

There, I said it. I think, for MY taste I'm saying, that the right little touch, done just SO, in understated or elegant or modern ways, in ways I find tasteful, the occasional little bit would work just fine.

Most beaded decor, though, I don't find to have much taste.

This is a PERSONAL matter of taste, and not a bash on anyone's projects; we all have our own ideas of decor, matters of personal style, and personal taste, so it's very individual.

I hope I don't get slammed for this, just being honest, which is what you want, I think.

re: Beaded Home Decor Trend

Has anyone tried to wire wrap silverware or serving spoons? I recently tried, and the technique is easy enough, but I'm wondering how you finish off your pieces? Do you need to glue the ends down or fuse the silver wire to the serving spoon somehow to make it dishwasher safe?
