It comes in 12 in squares, several colors and is only something like $1 or $2 each!

Studying their work will inspire and encourage anyone to give this fantastic bead medium a try. Both these ladies have absolutely amazing books available to order from any of the large online book stores. (Search by author.) Having these resources at your fingertips, you will be able to study over and over their creativity. And, each of their books have projects from easy to more challenging for a learner to learn from. And, SEED BEADS will become a favorite in one's bead collection.

When collecting seed beads to use in one's embroidery, choose quality beads...it makes a difference in the final appearance of your work. And, with your favorite seeds, if you are able, purchase 15/0, 11/0, and 8/0 size beads in the same color when available.

Finally, bead embroidery is not for those who need instant gratification. I have put in excess of 50 hours in several pieces I have created.

I would be happy to encourage anyone seriously interested in learning this technique: artisticallyexpressed@hotmail.com

I would like to learn the bead embroidery for jewelry. I LOVE the turquoise type of blue necklace and would love to try and make it, I'm sure it is an advanced project though. Best book for beginners? And, how can I get instructions for that necklace above?

Thanks,

Thanks so much for sharing, Jennifer. One thing I found out was that if you are making a bracelet and using a large oval cabochon, it's probably best to position it in a North/South direction, rather than the East/West direction across your wrist. The bracelet just won't sit nicely on your wrist.
