I have just started doing the jewelry i find it very relaxing. The trouble i have is following the directions for the different projects so i just make my own. I would really love to get into the wire bending and things but i have trouble with it.

Bravo Larry, for being the first to say what so many of us have thought. Yes some designs are over-the-top, intricate and so gigantic only a 6 ft. tall, super-thin model could pull off wearing them. :)

i too agreee with Larry and also Bead Soup Chef. am a large woman and prefer large bold designs, i frequently use pendants as earrings and they look great , 'cause they are in proportion with my body size. i use the largest beads i can find, but theres not a lot available above a 16mm. i really love the 50mm swarovski pendants !

I agree with Larry; too many necklaces I see in magazines are obviously not really meant to be worn during normal life. I like stringing, using glass and stones, but am beginning to add chain to some of my designs, like this one www.etsy.com/.../upcycled-vintage-owl-pendant-necklace

I like big bold necklaces, since I'm a big woman and tiny delicate designs get lost. I tend to prefer tribal, ethnic styles over modern ones.

Boy, do I relate to Larry's comment. I don't work any more and don't dress-up much. I tend to try to design less elaborate pieces that can be worn with t-shirts to run errands. I guess that's why I don't get into bead weaving or embroidery, stringing is my thing.

I like to see actually-wearable designs... there's 'way too much paper wasted printing pictures of elaborate, overdone designs that clearly originated to be "contest entries". They might be worn for a club's "show and tell" but unlikely to any "real-word event"

Elegant necklaces are what I turn to for bead weaving. I've been really into beaded beads on thin chains lately, too.

I like making very intricate delicate beading projects. I like to use crystals with size 15 beads. Its relaxing and to me its beautiful. makes me feel very good. I will be naming my bead projects if I sell, (I don't know yet).
