What Our Readers Did - February/March 2014 Beading Challenge Winner Colleen Carter

Apr 24, 2014

Collen Carter was the winner of our February/March 2014 Beading Challenge "Name That Beadwork" giveaway with her suggested name of Lionfish Amulet for the gorgeous beaded necklace made by editor Kate Wilson with the kit of metal findings from Kabela Designs. Colleen won her own kit like the one used by Kate, and created a beautiful piece of beadwork for us to share with you!

Here's what Colleen had to say about creating her beaded necklace:

"I had an interesting time figuring out the best way to use the components. What I came up with is a necklace that can be worn at least 4 different ways. It can be worn with the clasp in the back or front and with or without the removable dangle piece. I think it has a lot of potential for summer accessorizing. I think I'll call it "About Face!", like the military drill command. My son in law, a Marine, will get a kick out of that."

Congratulations on coming up with that fabulous name, Colleen, and thanks for sharing your beadwork with us!

If you want to play along, check out this month's Name That Beadwork post on the Beading Challenge blog, and come up with a name (or two!) for my soutache bead embroidery necklace.

Bead Happy,

Jennifer

It's very lovely, and reminds me of Cleopatra-- Egyptian Empress.
