If you follow our Beading Challenge
blog, you'll know that in every issue of Beadwork
magazine, there's a challenge presented to a few of our editors, and a couple of readers lucky enough to be chosen by the editors. We all receive the same kit of beads provided by a local bead shop or bead supplier, and we have to create something beautiful with it! One of our editor's creations are posted on the blog, and our readers get to suggest a name for it. Our editors choose the name they like best, and that person receives the same bead kit we used in the challenge.
|Sargasso Sea by Barbara Bellatti, the winner of the June/July Name That Beadwork challenge
Now, you'll get to see what one of those lucky winners created with her bead kit! Reader Barbara Bellatti chose the name Calliope's Muse for the fabulous necklace made by project editor Kate Wilson for the June/July 2013 challenge
, and she was gracious enough to share with us the piece that she created with her kit.
Barbara said that she tried for a long time to use the green components in the kit, but they just didn't speak to her. But she did create a lovely, lithe beaded necklace, and inspired by the soothing shades of blue and green, she named it Sargasso Sea. Well done, Barbara, and thanks for taking the time to share your creation with us!
You can participate in our challenge, too! If you want to be a reader participant, read the Reader Participant Rules here and submit a photo of your best beadwork to be considered by our editors. Or, if you want to play along with the Name That Beadwork challenge, just head over to the Beading Challenge blog and suggest your name for the most current challenge in the comments!
