Well, wow! I can't believe that it's been nearly a month
since we finished the first Beading Daily Bead Along! It took me way longer to
finish my piece than I thought it would, but here it is, and I love it.

Here it is! My Net Full of Gems! If you look closely, you'll see where I substituted for the cylinder beads at the very ends of the necklace.

I used a strand of white howlite chips and some gunmetal
lined Delicas to create this beaded necklace using
Linda Richmond's Net Full of
Gems design. I tried some new Glinter silver bead caps and clasp, and I love
the way they look with the beads and the overall design. I'm especially proud
of the way I improvised when I ran out of Delicas! Look very closely - you'll
notice that the ends are actually stitched with size 15
0 beads in
the same color as the Delicas. (Another reason why I keep a well-stocked supply
cabinet of those tiny little beads!)
Two of your fellow beady peeps here on Beading Daily sent me
the photos of their finished Net Full of Gems necklace, and here they are! Take
a bow, Karen Firnberg of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Diane Duncan of Calgary,
Alberta (Canada). You ladies did a fabulous job, and your finished beaded necklaces
just go to show what a versatile this free beading pattern is!

| Karen Firnberg of Baton Rouge, Louisiana (USA) used quartz chips for her stunning rendition of this necklace. |

Diane Duncan of Calgary, Alberta (Canada) made a distinctly earthy version of this beautiful beading pattern! |
So are you ready for the next Beading Daily Bead Along? We're
working on a new page here for the Beading Daily site that will include all the
information and how you can participate, and maybe even get your finished piece
of beaded jewelry included in a future Beading Daily blog.
First, we need to vote on the next projects! I've chosen a
selection of projects from the Beading Daily Shop, and now it's time to vote on
them. Head on over to Survey Monkey and take the survey, choosing one favorite
from each category of necklace, bracelet and earrings. I'll leave the voting
open until Monday, October 24, 2011 at noon EST.
So, while you're picking which beading projects you want to
try your hand at next, here's another giveaway for you! To enter, all you have
to do is leave a comment on this blog post telling us why you want to
participate in the next Beading Daily Bead Along. I'll leave the comments open
until Monday, October 17, 2011 at noon EST. At that time, I'll close the
comments and pick a winner using my trust random number generator.
The winner will receive a kit for making their own Net Full
of Gems necklace including: a strand of gemstone chips, an ample supply of
cylinder beads in a coordinating color, a set of Glinter silver bead caps and a
sterling silver clasp. The winner will also receive a copy of Jean Campbell's
18 Beaded Gifts. (Sorry, we can only
open this giveaway contest to those living in the U.S. at this time due to
customs regulations.)
So what are you waiting for? Check out the poll over at
Survey Monkey and vote for your favorite beading projects for our next Bead
Along!
Bead Happy (and don't forget to leave a comment on the blog!),
