"I make custom cakes to sell for special occasions. I entered a selection of my cakes into the British Bead Awards (the biggest competition here in the UK) and won 2nd place in the "Seed Bead non-jewelry" category and was also voted Best in Show by the public. Personally, I have been beading for over 15 years - I have had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for the past 8 years and my beading has been so therapeutic and really kept me going. I taught myself everything I know, starting with French Beading and then moving on to off-loom stitches. Although, since I've taught myself from books, you could say that I've had the most amazing teachers in the authors of those books!
I have just published a new book that features recipes for nine little cakes, and lots of ideas for customizing your own beaded cakes. It's currently available from my website: http://www.beadflowers.co.uk or from the publisher http://www.blurb.com, and I am gradually introducing it to bead shops."
