Where I live in the Great Smoky Mountains sticks and twigs are frequently inhabited by little creatures. I&amp;#39;m not sure how one would sterilize a stick, but bringing them into the warmth of a house could allow the creepy crawlies to hatch! Deffeinately not a good thing.&lt;/p&gt;

I&amp;#39;m thinking of not beading the entire stick however, just making a little ornament on it -- if that makes sense. We have lots oak tree sticks near where I live.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Here&amp;#39;s an example of artist Peggy Dembicer&amp;#39;s beaded antler -- and you can see why these things take so long to complete (she also has a video in there somewhere of her stitching it):&lt;/p&gt;
