I have a couple of strands of chips in my stash. I was just wondering if you really need the shape of the delicas or could you use seed beads and get the same effect?

In! I made a variation years ago with burgundy freshwater pearls and matching size 15 seed beads. I'm a very loose beader and my center tube collapsed - didn't hold its shape. I think if I can't control my tension any better this time I'll capture glass pearls inside the chip netted segment, I'll post a picture of the burgundy piece when I figure out where (lurker's first participation :-))

I love this idea - I'm four weeks in to a massive square-stitch project and could really use a short break, from square stitch and from chartreuse. Plus I have some strings of delicious fluorite chips just begging to be used... now to find some appropriate delicas!
