Time to choose our 2011 Bead Stars!

Bead StarEvery year, Interweave’s annual Bead Star competition gives beaders a chance to shine, and it’s time to choose our 2011 stars!

The submissions for our fourth issue of Bead Star have been pouring in for months, and we’ve been blown away by all of the inspiring entries for each of the competition’s eight categories. Now that the editors of Beadwork and Stringing have culled the entries down to twenty in each of the eight categories, we want to hear what you think! All Beading Daily members can view the finalists in the Bead Star 2011 image galleries, and vote for their favorite pieces:

Crystals Plastics
Glass Seed Beads (with bead-stitched pieces for the first time ever!)
Heart Design Stones
Metal Pearls

The four entries in each category that receive the most votes will be named first place, second place, third place and honorable mention. Winning designs will be published in this year’s issue of Bead Star, which will be available on newsstands at the end of December, 2011.

Thanks to our generous sponsors*, we have thousands of dollars in prizes up for grabs, including an exciting grand prize: an all-expenses paid trip for two to Bead Fest in Santa Fe! A panel of experts will select the grand prize winner from the first-place winners in each category.

The polls close on May 17th, so cast your votes now!

  1. So many wonderful designs to choose from it was not easy to cast my vote….It took me forever to look at and look at all…
I think this is awesome and wish the best of luck to the winners in each catagory.

  2. There is something wrong with the hearts category voting. When anyone clicks on the category of hearts on the right side to vote for the Beadstar contest only one heart design comes up. Where are the other 19?

  3. Just a question…why is “The Pharo’s Ransom” not under seed beads? Its under stones and it has only 1 stone, and a million seed beads? Just curious.
